CONTEXTUAL FIT

Objective:

The Smith Family has commissioned you to design an addition to their house on the shore of Long Island Sound. The original house, designed in 1965 by architect Richard Meier, has been widely published and is internationally known. Unfortunately, the Owners needs have change since the original design, thereby warranting this architectural intervention. The Owner specifically request that the integrity of the original design be respected, yet the new addition should have its own presence.

Narrative

The Clark family moved into the famously known Smith House by Richard Meier. They love being able to exercise and be physically active daily. Their fitness is always important and take time to exercise. Whenever they go to the beach to relax, they always bring their beach ball to play. Beach balls are convenient since they can be used like a volleyball or even a soccer ball. They bring this ball because it could be a great start for the kids to start focusing on their physical fitness. They all enjoy doing this and play daily in order to become great athletes in the future
